General Hospital spoilers tease Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is in over her head and it shows. She’s been cooking up a scheme with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) to stick it to WSB Chief Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna).
There’s just one problem: Jack doesn’t seem to take mercy on anyone. This has many fans worried that Carly is barking up the wrong tree.
Seeking revenge on this man for what he has done is a dangerous plot that could land Carly in a much worse position — as well as Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy). Will she learn too little too late that she messed with the wrong guy?
Carly Hasn’t Changed, and Neither Has Jack
Over the years, we’ve known Carly to be a pretty vengeful woman. If you mess with the people she loves, you’re going to hear the riot act from her — at minimum.
If you really cross a boundary, she’ll be coming for you. In this case, Jack recruited Joss into the WSB behind Carly’s back, and she’s pretty certain he did so in a less than ethical manner.
She hates the wedge it’s driving between her and her daughter, and loathes knowing Joss is in danger and she may not be able to do anything about it. For someone who fears danger though, she sure is good at planting herself squarely at the center of it.
Carly has been warned about Jack from the outset, but she chose to ignore those warnings and expect that he might treat her differently. Is that the case? That remains to be seen, but there is little evidence thus far that Jack plays favorites.
GH Spoilers Report Valentin Has Little to Lose
Pairing up with Valentin is one of the most skillful moves Carly could have made, but it’s also one of the more risky. Jack hates Valentin, and he is used to using him as a pawn when he can to get the information that he needs.
Negotiations with Valentin work because Jack knows what carrot to dangle: Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke). Thus, Jack would know what buttons to push to put the fear of God into Valentin, too. Threaten Charlotte, scare Valentin. Easy peasy.
Won’t the same apply for Carly? If she and Valentin tick Jack off, will he retaliate — against their daughters?
Will This Leopard Change His Spots?
Jack does seem to genuinely love Carly, and that makes him sometimes seem like he hates the position he has put himself in. Does he regret recruiting Joss? We’ll never know, and she’ll never be able to believe him regardless of how he answers that question.
The fact is, Joss is now at risk, possibly for the rest of her life, because Carly got close to this man and let him into their world.
Ultimately, she’ll have to forgive herself as much as him. Recently, Jack brought the hammer down on Vaughn (Bryce Durfee) for hooking up with Joss after he had warned him not to.
